Tuesday's Best 7-31-2012

Good morning, my lovelies. Hope you're all having a wonderful day. If you're ready for a quick reading break, MizzDee and I have a couple of stories we'd love to share with you, so sit back and enjoy.

Hello my loves. If you know anything about me by now, you should know just the thought of Carlisle and Edward together makes my insides melt. Well I found just the thing to cure my need for these boys. Come Back To Me by karenec gives me just enough to wet my whistle (among other things) and leaves me with the desire for more. Read for yourself and see what I mean.

~oOo~

One man for the rest of your life… not a chance.

Carlisle never believed in the notion of a monogamous relationship.  He liked being free, not tied down to only one man. And it was a point he made clear to those he dated.

When he met Edward, he made it clear that he wouldn’t be the only one and Edward was okay with that. As time went on, though, he found himself liking Edward’s company more and more.

It was a little unsettling but he wasn’t ready to give up his lifestyle.

"So you're still seeing Alistair?"

I nodded and frowned when her face grew troubled. "You know I don't do exclusive, Rose. It's just not my thing. Edward and I have been spending a lot of time together, but he knows how I feel."

Sure, Edward knows how Carlisle feels, but is it enough for him anymore? Does he want more with the one man who refuses to offer more?

Rosalie rolled her eyes when my phone chimed during dinner. I smirked and pulled it out of my pocket to check the screen while Edward's warm hand rubbed the nape of my neck.

1 message, Alistair.

As the dinner wore on, I couldn't help noticing how often Edward's eyes flicked to my phone on the table, and the trace of tension in his jaw. His expression was calm when he looked at me, but there was an unfamiliar distance in his face.

Edward’s face says it all, but will Carlisle realize the truth before it’s too late?

karenec has definitely given us so much to look forward to with this story. There are so many questions and I, for one, can’t wait to find out the answers as we see what else she has in store for these boys. So hurry over and read you won’t be sorry. Until next time…much love to you – D

Y’all probably know by now how much I love SubtlePen’s writing. If you didn’t, then where the heck have you been ;-). Anyway! I thought I’d delve into S/BS 2.0’s archive, this time, and see what I could find. Lo and behold, Subtle had an entry. And since today is my birthday, I figured I’d allow myself a delicious treat and share it with all of you.

Joy, Relief, Lust, Gratitude is a drabble arc, and again, y’all should know by now I have a great fondness for those. In this one, we meet Carlisle, an ER doctor who’s had a very rough shift and is left with a hollow ache at the end of it. One he longs to fill, but isn’t sure how or where to find it.

He grieved the loss of something I'd never found, and I couldn't summon adequate words to console him. Some sick twisted part of me envied him; that he'd at least known that bond, when I'd been alone… forever.

I shan’t give you more than this, as I don’t want to spoil it all for you. It’s a quick, but delightful read that I’m sure you’ll enjoy.

There you have it, folks. Two great stories to sink your teeth into. Check back next week to see what Connie and MizzDee have in store for you. In the mean time, be sure to leave these wonderful authors some love.

Don't forget, tomorrow the Slash/Backslash 4.0 starts accepting entries. Have you written yours yet? If not, why not start and write the next awesome slash story? You know how we love to share.

Speaking of sharing, I'm putting another shout out for help here. It's pretty obvious from last week's poll that most of you are not interested in seeing the blog expand to other fandoms. However, I'm still looking for someone to take the blog over. There's been zero response, and while I'm not looking to quit today, I will be doing so soon. If there's no one willing to step up, I will be closing the blog and that's something I really would hate to see happen. So, if you know of anyone willing and able, please leave a comment to this post.
