Tuesday's Best~Oct 13th, 2009

Welcome to TwiSlash Unveiled

Tuesday's are for the best slash stories we can find and this Tuesday is no different. The Master and I are here to present you with a few FUCKAWESOME tales that will get your heart to sing and your juices to flow.

Whitlock's Girl brings you...

by Whitlock-Masen

Marked is written by the awesomeness that is Whitlock-Masen or otherwise known as SorceressCirce and Naelany. And when I say awesomeness, I mean these two fucking rocked my world with this oneshot that was written for the Tattward and Inkella contest.

The story is told from Edward's POV. Edward, a photographer, is working on a book about tattooing. When he meets Jasper, Edward asks Jasper to sit for him. The problem is that Edward has this undeniable and barely containable attraction to Jasper. Several times during the shoot Edward is dragged into a trance-like state by a half naked Jasper. (Who can blame him?)

While there's not any smexin' yet, the UST in this oneshot is fucking fabulous. It's some of the best I've ever read in fic or published works. It's hot and steamy and leaves you fucking breathless. I seriously thought I was going to need a breathing treatment to get my respiratory system back on track after reading it.

Marked, while only a oneshot for the time being, is being expanded into a full blown story and I for one can't wait for it to happen. It's beautiful, captivating and if SorceressCirce and Naelany's other stories are any indication, the multi-chaptered version of Marked will continue to knock our socks off.

The Master brings you...

This past week (alright, couple of weeks) real life has been kicking my ass and unfortunately, reading lovely slash has been low on my priority list…the horror, I know! Once again, I sat here and went ‘Shit, I need a fic for tomorrow’ and went into dumpster dive mode, crawled in and pulled out “Never Let Go” by calico736. I thought with only two chapters, this would be quick story to read and possibly recommend. Boy, was I wrong. Yes, it is only two chapters, but the first chapter is over 14k, the second chapter around 7k. The author is not afraid of details, or taking her time, making sure not to rush one moment of Jasper/Edward loving.

The boys are with their friends and sibling/s, Rosalie, Emmett and Alice in a cabin in the mountains. The story starts off with Jasper verbally telling Edward off, while mentally thinking the exact opposite, after Edward tackles Jasper in a game of touch football. This tackle leads Jasper to get a bit, er, excited, and completely embarrassed. While Jasper feels this attraction, and love, for Edward, he attempts to deny his emotions. However, this does not last long, and he soon finds out that Edward feels the same way about him, but neither boy is ‘out’ yet and they do not want to be out’ed to their friends/family in this situation. This means some sneaking around (and even some closet time, literally!).

Things are uncomfortable for them, their physical desire to touch each other, and want to be near each other constantly putting them at risk for being caught by someone. Of course, it turns out they are not quite as stealthy as they thought, and there is at least one other in the cabin that has seen their attraction for each other.

After a life and death situation, they become even closer, and begin to have a more ‘what the fuck’ attitude about anyone finding out, although they are consciously still trying to hide their relationship-which has progressed quickly emotionally but not as much physically.

The author does a great job with the smut provided to date, which has been some grinding, kissing and cuddling, as well as an outstanding job portraying Jasper’s emotions. His love for Edward, and his fear of losing him, and coming out. Jasper’s emotions are tangible in this story. I like the longer chapters, although not when I am in a hurry to write a review, but ones that you can sit and enjoy and yet never be bored. So, go read “Never Let Go”, sink into some good slash and leave the author some love if you enjoy it!
